Hi Im Katasha. We just JUST just (litterally) got here. I haven't the slightest clue as to what the heck is going on. This isn't our first duty station but it's the first time we have done this whole family move. We went driving around today and oh my gosh I dont remember where anything is...[insert nervous laugh here]. So a couple questions first of all.

1. When it comes to enrolling into school are we restricted to districts?

     A. I have a daughter that will be attending Kindergarten this year and the hubbs was told by the school liasion that the school isnt having Kindergarten on post this year.

2. Any reccomendations for Kindergartens outside post?

3. I have a preschool age son and was wondering where anyone would reccomend we take him?

4. When does school start? Or has it already?

I guess that's it for now. Your responses are greatly appreciated.

Yes schools are done by district. All the elementary schools on post have kindergarden. I'm pretty sure they all have 1/2 day, both morning and afternoon, and they have full day, but full day usually fills up quickly. You will have to go to the school that your daughter will be attending and ask. I don't know about kindergarden or preschool off post. The preschool, or part day preschool, is full, other than 2 days a week in the afternoon. School started here Aug 11.
Welcome to Ft Carson. We were overwhelmed ourselves when we first got here but quickly found our way around.

Welcome to Fort Carson!! I was very overwhelmed at first too!! Lol It is alot bigger than our last duty station, but I have learned almost every road leads to either academy or powers! Those will be your two main roads you use here offpost! I know that y'all are on post, but I have a five year old too and he goes to Giberson which is in district two and I think you can request a school out of district! It's a good school with lots of military kiddos! I think you are in district three though if you live on post though! Not 100% sure about that! About your little man the have Headstart program here which I highly recommend! My oldest was in the Headstart program and they are awesome!! It's free for military too! You just have to register him with CPCD! And honestly if you need directions or just someone to talk to please message me and I will
Give you my cell! I have two boys one is five and that's Aiden and I have a two year old too andrew!! Anytime you would like to hang out please let me know! My hubby is currently deployed and is home on R&R, but if you have any questions please just ask! By the way I'm Krystle Chapman! Lol Welcome again! It's a beautiful duty station with lots of family things to do!! :)
