Did it take your baby a long time to learn to lift his head? Brennon is almost 14 weeks and still cannot hold his head up well and cannot lift it when laying on his tummy. He's a bobber lol. He was a 34 weeker.
yea my son is 3months and he was a 33 weeker and he still is not lefting his head up... and i give him tummy time every day.... i just dont know what to do.... im so worried that it never going to happen even thou everyone say just give him time he will when he is ready lol
Keep doing your tummy time everyday! Our nicu nurses told us that tummy time is even more important for preemies because of the fact that they are out earlier and can overdevelop some muscles from laying instead of swimming on the inside so they really need the time to balance that out. My 35-weeker actually was holding his head up at 2 weeks, but his development has been kinda weird--way ahead in some things and behind in others. If you're concerned, talk to your ped about it. I had Andy evaluated by early intervention through our county (they'll do an eval once they reach 40 weeks gestation) and he passed early on. At 2, we're receiving speech services due to recurrent ear infections affecting his hearing as an infant. EI is free and totally worth a call if you have concerns! :)
my daughter was a 35 weeker. she didn't lift her head till about 4 months old, didn't crawl till 11 months, and walked at 13 months. but speach wise she is well beyond her age she is already says between 80-100 words on her own and is also putting words together in 2-4 word sentences. every baby is different don't be worried just give it time.
