I'm having a 34-weeker in two days!

I am already a mommy to two children which both made it to term safely. But this time around, my water broke at 29 weeks so I was sent to the hospital on bed-rest and haven't seen the outside world since Aug 3. September 1 they are inducing me to have my 34-week baby and even though I know that is considered "Late Pre-Term" I'm still really scared. Anything can happen, what if I wasn't as far along as we suspected and he's not as developed as he should be?! And the tug-of-war I'm going to go through of having him hospitalized two hours away (we live in a small town that can't accommodate preemie needs) while I'm back and forth with my older two and him. Plus, the financial burden this has put on our family. That's why I'm reaching out: I know I'm going to need other mom's support through this very stressful and scary time in my life.

Having a baby that is most likely going to spend some time in the.NICU is always scary! Good luck. I hope he spends very little time in the NiCU and is able to come home with you really soon!

We are hear if you have any questions. My son was born a day shy of 32 weeks and spent 30 days in the .nICU. Feel free to message me if you want. Good luck on Thursday!

I know its so scary! Your story sound so simialr to ours, my water broke at 31 weeks and I was taken to a hospital 2 hours away. My son only made it to 32 weeks before i had him, so thats wonderful you have madeit to34. Thats as far as they were going to let me go as well because the risk of infection outweigs the risk of preemie related problems. I hope everything goes smoothly and he has very minor issues and can come home soon. My son was in the hospital for about 3 1/2 weeks. 34 weeker is early but he shoukd be great! They are much stronger by then!

My water broke at 31 weeks and I was in the hospital on bedrest until I went into labor on my own at 33 weeks 5 days (we were shooting for 34 weeks as well). He was 5 lbs 8oz and 18 inches and very healthy for being so early. He spent 2 weeks in the NICU only working on feeding issues. Good luck to you in your journey.

Wow, sorry about the "bump" IDK what that is, b/c I haven't been on here in forever!! Everything went as wonderfully as could be... ty SO much for the support!! Gavin was born healthy and 5 lbs, 2.5 oz in fact quite healthy!! He was in the NICU for two weeks and now is growing like a weed with all "milestones" perfectly normal!! I'm SO blessed and glad to finally be back in touch... I hadn't been able to get on here in a while b/c I came home after being on bedrest at the hospital for 6 wks to my oldest two just having started the new school-year and had to get back into the swing of things, then the holidays and then started back to college myself!! So, needless to say, I've been BUSY but in the best of ways!!

Thank you SO much for checking in... I replied to the post itself: all is well, I just got majorly busy for so long that I litterally hardly had time to shower (I'm sure as a fellow mommy, you can relate)! Getting back on track finally...
