Amazing. She's beautiful and she must be a fighter. I don't know a heck of a lot about micro preemies (my son was born at 34 weeks which hardly seems premature at all compared to some of the micro preemies) but I do have a cousin that had similar health issues as an infant. What I know is that baby's brains have so much more capacity for recovery than an adult brain. A level 4 bleed is certainly a scary thing but a level 1 or 2 bleed doesn't usually amount to much. So the beauty of a baby brain in this situation is that it is possible that her brain will sort of rewire itself and undamaged parts will take over the function of the damaged parts. My cousin had some other issues and he does have cerebral palsy BUT he has done a heck of a lot better than any doctor ever expected. Keep praying, keep talking to her and keep touching her. She is a little miracle. I'll definitely say a prayer for both of you.
God bless your baby, you and your family!
I had my baby girl at 28 weeks and 2 days. Being the Mommy of a preemie especially so small, it is such an emotional rollercoaster. It is draining some days and then some days the most exciting. Keep the kangaroo care up. Babies need to hear their Mommys heartbeat. It is the best therapy for you both. My girl was in the hospital for two months, she had a CPAP when born, and had two blood transfusions later on. So very scarey. Girls are fighters and looks like yours is one too! You are welcome to check out my preemie's blog www.growingsydneygrace.blogspot.com I made that blog to inspire and to bring hope and understanding to the hardships and joys of having a preemie.
