MANCHESTER, Mich., (WXYZ) - The Manchester Fire Department confirms a major fire at a hardware store.

The fire broke out around midnight at Kleinschmidt's Manchester True Value Hardware store on the 19800 block of Sharon Valley Road. According to the Manchester Fire Department, the building appears to be a total loss.

Authorities are not reporting any evacuations or injuries. Fire fighters and investigators remain at the scene to determine a cause.

This is my town.  So sad as they are a great business and since we started building our house here 9 years ago, we have been loyal customers.  I sure hope some how they can rebuild.  Also wondering in the road construction had anything to do with it.  Prayers are with the owners and grateful everyone is ok physically.

Sadly, people are quick to jump to the conclusion that it was for insurance money. How jaded we have become.  Instead, they should be glad no one was hurt and sad that a business was destroyed.

I agree.  This company is a huge staple in Manchester.  I did see over the last few days the RDK Kleinschmidt trucks out so I hope that means they are still trying to do some business and they will rebuild.
