Ways to Advertise Offline *updated 1/12/12
-Business Cards (self-made or from http://www.vistaprint.com/ )
-T-shirts and wear them on your outings especially kid's school functions
-Paid newspaper ads
-Make bookmarks for libraries~ check w/ librarian first
-Word of mouth
-Pens...hand them out or leave them lay anywhere you would use a pen
-Welcome baby cards or samples for hospitals for new baby arrivals
-Request 5 minutes at the beginning of mom groups (Lamaze classes, MOPS, etc...)
-Welcome basket of samples for newbies to your area
-Put a business card in the envelope when sending out your bills
-Ask to leave pamphlets at Dr. offices, natural healers, health food shops
-Car magnets or Window Clings (I use http://www.autolettering.com/ & http://www.vistaprint.com/)
-Leave index cards/business cards at public bathrooms
-Leave pamphlet w/ your business card on the shelves where the store brand products are
-Buy a rubber stamper and stamp all of your outgoing mail
-Return address labels w/ your business on it for your mail
-When you get junk mail w/ postage paid envelopes, send a flier or biz card back to them
-Gift baskets for raffles, baby showers, bridal showers, Christmas, Chinese Auctions or Bingo Halls, etc...
-When you go to garage sales/yard sales, ask to leave some fliers
-Donate your old magazines to a Dr/Denist office and cover up your address label with a label with your business on it "this was donated by...."
-Leave business card with your waitress's tip, at payphones
-Get special made checks
-Ad in high school yearbooks
-Local Restaurants & Diners...a lot of them use those advertising paper placemats...look at them & get the phone # and call & ask for RATES on adding your Ad to one of the paper placemats used at local restaurants
-Local Restaurants & bars...a lot of them use advertising paper coasters for their beverages
-When you go thru a drive thru for the bank, send a business card/ flier thru with your deposit/withdrawal slip or money/payment
-Some Grocery Stores accept advertising on the back of their cash register tapes!
-Local Bridal Fairs
-See about advertising on PAPER CUPS/ napkins that are used at sporting EVENTS in your local area
-A yard sign... I use Vista Print or you can make your own. Lowe's has blank corrugated signs.
-Print out Coloring Pages with a small section on them advertising your business and donate them to local area restaurants, daycares, your child's class, etc
-Make sure you leave info about Your Business on your answering machine or voice mail message
-Local Job fairs
-Check with your local Radio Station and see if they are holding any on-air contests and see if you can donate a gift certificate or products.
-Get a canvas tote bag with your business info on it.
-Contact local area bridal supply stores, bridal gown stores, caterers, tux rental centers, wedding DJ's etc. Ask them if you can leave your business cards & fliers about a Bridal Gift Registry for them to give to their customers.
-Watch your local newspaper for Wedding, Engagement and New Baby Announcements! Make a list and then go to: www.whitepages.com and to try to track down addresses. You can mail off your business info to them announcing your business, bridal gift registry, baby gift registry, etc.
