Hey all, I did some soul searching yesterday, and I think I want to stay in the field I'm interested in, mostly photography, and want to get a business going. Anyone here business owner and have suggestions?

I know for fact that photographers can do super well using Facebook as a marketing tool and way to grow their business. Go on facebook and look how other photographers do it. My friend Laura Radneiki doubled her business in one year solely due to Facebook marketiing. Good luck!

yep, I'm planning on making a fanbook page. still getting together the pictures I want to use.

 Good Luck !!  I think its wonderful that you at least know what you want to do and are making a go of it.  I still cant find a job to do at home.  You have a great starting point and Im sure you'll do wonderfully well.

Hi my DH and I are photographers and we have had alot of luck working with Smugmug. We do alot of Facebook HOWEVER you don't make alot from Facebook. The only problem you have with FB is anyone can take your photos. Even is you watermark them. I unfortunately found out the hard way. I had someone from another country steeling photos and cropping out our watermark and adding his. I was lucky enough to speak with a developer of FB and that was my only complaint that if there was a way to secure the photos so people can't take them it would be perfect.  I have people take and share them even with our name through the image as well. Hi Julia!

I have a photography biz that I run from home.The thing I did was took photos and put them up on a site that sells your photos for you.I choose fineartamerica.com,their POD program is awesome and only $30.00 a yr and includes 2 websites, one is for selling and is part of a huge community and the other is your own website that you also sell on too,I bought a domain name for it and redirected it to my site,They also have a free option too,you can sell your photos with the free one but you have to print out the photos yourself and send them to the customer,mess with shipping and handling etc,and that is not something I wanted to do.

I have a shop on there that is connected to my shop on fineartamerica.com and all my shots are protected from people trying to take them. I had a website on webs.com but had some of my digital art taken so pulled everything off.
