do any of the work from home moms feel socially isolated? my kids are grown up and i work from home. i don't get any of the office interaction with co-workers.
does anyone have any suggestions? or thoughts?
Here are a few ideas :)
-Join a local networking group
-Get involved at your church
-Join a class at your local gym
-Join a local hobby club
-Schedule a biweekly or monthly night out with your friends
-Start your own group on facebook for those that are local to you
Hope that helps!

I can completely relate to how you feel. My kids are not grown, but one is in school and one is only 2. My LO talks alot, but doesn't carry on a conversation with me. My hubby was laughing at me today because I was talking to myself. I tasked him what did he expect that I talk to myself all week (LOL).
On the rare occassion that my few friends that work outside the home call me, I am just thrilled.

I've worked from home for the past 7-1/2 years, and while I love being home, I do also feel isolated with not having any coworkers right next to me. However, I make an effort to do a lot of internet marketing, get involved with my son's school and extracurricular activities, get involved with my church. I make sure I'm socializing with others as much as possible because it's very easy to get stuck in a rut when working from home.

I have young kids. So it's a bit different from your situation. I really don't miss some of my crappy former co workers.
I have young kids as well so I'm not much help. But, I would suggest getting involved in a group or two within your community, volunteer, etc. Do what someone else suggested and take your computer to a coffee shop and work if you can. Or go to the library and work if there is no coffee place around. Get involved in a walking group if that is something that interests you-get some exercise while socializing :) Good luck!
