Hi All!

I'm just curious to see how many of you out there have replaced your incomes? I know not everyone wants to do that, but those have, I would love to know your experience through your journey and what you did to be successful!

I'm sure it will help plenty of the moms on here as well who are looking for something and want to be a success.

I make triple the amount of my highest paying job that I had (military). It took years and multiple businesses to find the right one for me. Once I found the right business, it only took 4 months to start earning more than I have ever earned before. It took a lot of work and sleepless nights lol! I don't regret any of it. If my husband wasn't military, I could retire him right now but he's stuck. He didn't think it was possible for me to make this much from home and mostly through facebook.

I think where people typically go wrong is they do a business for the wrong reasons. Someone promised they make this amount but they didn't research to see how many were actually making that. Or they don't want to do 'this' or 'this', and so they choose something limited. For example, I didn't want to do parties. Well, I did parties in the beginning and now it's fully online. Also, the type of products. Competitors? Is is a necessary product or something people would set off to the side when things get rough? Reusable products or one time only purchase? After losing thousands in other businesses, I became very picky. In fact, I didn't even want to join It Works till my sister practically drove me insane to push me into it.
It took 6 months of her pushing and a month of working it and I quit my other businesses I was doing and went full time with It Works. I didn't think the business or the products would work but I was thankfully shocked lol! Sometimes we have our golden opportunity staring us in the face but we just ignore it till someone kicks us in our butt lol!

My initial goal was to get my kids in preschool because it is difficult working from home with kids and I am honestly NOT the stay at home mom type lol! Third month, I was able to put them in and since then I have been working from home full time. $50,000+ worth of debt (30k being a van) will be paid off in less than a year. My van was purchased in August of last year and should be paid off by March. Once that is paid off, we are buying my hubby a camry hybrid for his drive to work and it'll be paid off quickly (I am DONE with the motorcycle lol). We have to wait till next year before we can buy a house since you have to own the business for 2 years for the income to count.

Those that succeed are the ones that NEED the business to work and refuse to allow excuses. Everyone has a reason why they need the business to work. You just need to figure out what it is :)

Those that assume working from home with a home business will be easy will be learning that it's not the case at all. Working from home will take self-motivation, often working at times you'd least expect, and will have ups and downs just like any other business out there. Those that will be successful are the ones willing to treat their business as a business and ride the rollercoaster. It's a fun ride and worth every moment.

I earn I would say about 1/2 if not more of the income coming into our home from my cloth diapper business and working with Tupperware. I agree with the poster above. Those that succeed are the ones that NEED it to work and don't allow it to fail

No, not even close. I think being an introvert and having Aspergers might have something to do with it. I'm having better luck selling on Amazon.

Hi loyamom,

I did replace my income with funds from 2 traditional startups that I originated , was able to buy my house, start 2 kids in College and retired my husband and support his singer\songwriter career and am about to do it again with a 3rd business in development.

I have replaced and surpassed my income by being a fundraising coordinator from home!
