How do you feel about the Presidents speech on Operation Iraqi Freedom ending?

Do you think its a good thing or a bad thing?

How about the part on ending the recession?

I think its a good thing. Obama is letting the Iraquis have their freedom. Freedom, meaning, Iraquia can now control their own country with little interference. Its time America got out of this war and took care of their own people

I would like to think at least some good should come from this. I'm sure there are many families that will be glad to have family members come home safely.

Me being an Army wife I would love it, but Ill beleive it when I see it. Im pretty sure the people of Iraq would like to do there own thing now. And like OP said, its time we focus on our people now.

Same here! My DH is over there right now as a helicopter mechanic. Even though armed combat is 'over', the danger the soldiers face isn't gone. Iraq has a gov't in place, they have a police force that we're helping train... once thats done, I say 'lets get the hell out of Dodge!' Will it happen? I hope so, but I'm also not holding my breath. We may always have a presence in Iraq from now on <much like S Korea>. I'll stop there before I get 'too political'.

same here.  I have always felt that he is just saying what he feels is 'popular' right now and not what he actually wants/ is going to do.......
