How much wood could a wood chuck chuck, if a wood chuck could chuck wood? I thought they really could chuck wood so why would they say "if a wood chuck could"?

Peter piper picked a peck of pickled peppers. On average how many peppers are in a peck? Would you not have to pick the peck before they are pickled. I mean pickles don't grow from the ground, cucumbers do.

Sally sells slit sheets down by the sea shore. Well I know I wouldn't buy a sheet if it was slit.

Rubber baby buggy bumpers. What the hell is that?

These are used more for vocal warm ups. Some of them are hard to say fast so it helps pronunciate your words. Usually for stage performances. We had a really bizarre one in theater in high school.

Well I wouldn't buy sea shells from her either. If I am already at the sea shore I will just pick them off the ground for free :P

well, a peck is 1/4 bushel. so a peck equals 16 dry pints. its only pickled because of the salt and vinegar.

and a baby buggy is a stoller, so it has rubber bumpers on it.

and i thought sally sold sea shells.

The amount of wood that woodchucks would chuck on a given day varies greatly with the individual woodchuck. According to a Wall Street Journal article, New York State wildlife expert Richard Thomas found that a woodchuck could chuck around 35 cubic feet of dirt in the course of digging a burrow. Thomas reasoned that if a woodchuck could chuck wood, he would chuck an amount equal to 700 pounds.
Some say it depends on three factors:
  • The woodchuck's desire to chuck said wood.
  • The woodchuck's need to chuck the aforementioned wood.
  • The woodchuck's ability to chuck the wood when it is a woodchuck
