Please Help Us :'(

First off, please no bashing........ I am so distraught I can't think straight :( we really really need help, and I don't know where to turn...

My 5 year old is a terror. Theres no way around it. Today he tried to push me (and my baby I was holding) down the stairs, and then he proceeded to kick and punch me and tried to dent my car. He screamed and screamed and screamed until 2 neighbors came to see what the hell was going on. I of course, dissolved into tears and I'm at a complete loss.

I know we need professional help, but I am so so so scared they will call CPS and I will lose my babies :'(

Do any of you know where I can call that's safe? I love my kids so much it hurts, but I need help with him, because its affecting my other children as well :(

Please help if you can, we are in Oregon BTW..

I'd start with seeing a phsyciatrist as a family, one who specializes in children behavior. He needs help. You need to do something even if you fear the worst- because he will only get worse. Has something happened to him for him to act out that way? And besides his behavior is there something your worried about for cps?

You can call a local family counseling center and they will have a reccomendation for placement of your 5 yr old. They won't take him away but they can figure out why he is acting like he is and find an outlet for his anger instead of taking it out on you. You need to call a.s.a.p. because the longer it goes on, the stronger he gets, the more dangerous the situation can become for you and the baby. It could be as simple as jealousy or something more difficult to deal with.

I'm so sorry, hun! I really have no idea? Maybe, try to document his tantrums with as much detail as possible. Then take the list of incidents to show his pediatrician & see what they suggest.

If you have things documented & proof that you have sought help for his behavior, I HIGHLY DOUBT that CPS will find it necessary to get involved. You are dealing with his issues & not physically harming him, so CPS would have no ground to stand on in a case against you! (BIG HUGS!) Good luck & keep me updated on how it all works out!

Why don't you try talking to your regular pediatrician? Maybe they can recommend therapy or something for him? I don't see why anyone would call cps on you.

IF you are seeking help, more likely they will not call CPS..He needs to see a Behavior Specialist..I would go to his Pedi and get a referal to see one..He needs to be evaluated..NOT saying something IS wrong with him, BUT he needs help one way or another..Just go to the Pedi..They will understand..Trust me on that..They will not call CPS...We are seeing a Behaviorlist for my 5yr old..he has ADHD/ODD..I knew since he was 2yrs old but obviously couldnt get him diagnosed, etc..I just went to his Pedi, and they refered me..And we went from there..His Behavior dr is AWESOME!

I am in Oregon too :) Just wanted to say hello. I also was going to say is that they can't call a CPS unless it's a probable cause and that doesn't sound like it is. I would look into theapry for your little guy to see the root of the problem..Sometimes your doctor can refer you to go somewhere for that sorta thing.. If you need any help finding out anything or what not feel free to message me.
