Activities for one year olds

My teenage sister in law will be watching my dd this week while I'm working because my husand is out of town. She has a tendency to watch a lot of television when she is babysitting - something I generally frown upon. I talked to her about it, and she confessed that she doesn't know what to do with my dd, beyond reading books, going to the park and playing on the floor (which gets old fast when you're talking an 8 hour day).

Anyone have suggestions for some fun activities for a 15 month old (not quite walking) and a 15 year old that I can have them do this week?

Here's a couple I had:

 - getting the egg shaped starter crayon and some coloring books

 - water table in the backyard

What else??? I know entertaining kids over the summer is always tricky. But I'm better at dreaming up projects for bigger kids.

Thank you!

Sprinkler....my son (15 months) loves the sprinkler! Pudding painting (outside of course), much like finger painting but with food. Shirt making, finger paint on a shirt, get her feet involved, they got nuts! Chalk the driveway/sidewalk.
