My sister (11) fell off something at school and separated her shoulder. My mom toook her to the dr. Tben to get x rays and after seeing the xrays the dr. Made my sister an appointment with a specialist tomorrow morning.

Anyway, what does this mean for my sister? Does it require surgery, something like a cast,?? I hate not knowing what to expect

Several years ago, my dad got out of the shower to answer the phone and slipped on brand new linolium (sp?) flooring and did something similar to his should.  He had to have a major surgery, but he's also old and incredibly tall.

More than likely it means it's out of the scope of practice for a family physician or it requires a little more detailed evaluation.

If there's enough damage it will need surgery

it means they need a better look to see what is needed to be done to correct it. So you really don't know until they look

Ahhh...thanks!
She was on one of those bouncy things (like a car with a spring under it) at the park (I thought my mom hhad she was at school but she wasn't) and somehow she got sprung off the frog and used her arm to protect her head.
I'm hoping its not bad but the hospital dr. Wanted her seen today by the specialist. The first appointment wasn't til tomorrow morning though :(

To me it means like another post read: "It's out of scope"..... and to me it sounds like ur more worried cuz she's going tommorow. Like the sooner it is the worse it is. Am I right or no? Just speculating.

I'm actually not worried, more just wondering what might happen. If she'll be off school...that sorta thing. If she has to be off scholl she'll end up at mu house bc I aam a sahm and my mmom and step dad work.

I don't think its too bad bc she's home now
