It's The Law! So Deal With It!!!

It is the law of mommyhood that the one time in months your daughter doesn't scream, kick, and cry while having her diaper changed she will poop in the clean one just minutes later... *sigh*

She has been horrible ever since she became mobile (so 7-8 months old). She sounds like I'm trying to murder her whenever I change her (clothes or diaper). She screams, kicks, cries, rolls, twists, turns and throws an all out temper tantrum. I can give her things to play with, sing to her, try to distract her, but without another person to 1. hold her still and 2. to distract her it's absolutely dreadful to change her.

So today she was amazing! I put the soother in her mouth, gave her something crinkly to play with and she didn't cry once. I even had to change her sleeper and nothing! I was so proud of myself!!!!

Guess what? Two minutes after that she has pooped... How lucky do you think I'm going to be this time?

*goes to grab a new diaper...*

Lol..my daughters used to do that..they would hold still if I let them stand up while changing their diapers though! Doing it standing is a little tricky to but not as tricky as when they're flailing around. Good luck

Bribery is the best thing. I have given her the remote, my phone, the powder and anything else that child will take. I sing and do silly dances while changing her. Sometimes it works..... Other times lol yea

Sounds just like my newborn minus the rolling.

Lol sadly I've tried that too... She flings herself backwards or just won't support herself and falls on her knees or bum (she's only 9 months). I literally have tried it all! I read through books upon books, I googled it, I've asked moms on here. She's just so stubborn (a lot like daddy). She prefers to be in control of her own body lol.

Yeah, the crinkly thin was some plastic from df's energy drink lol. She had the soother so she couldn't put it in her mouth. Now I'm going to try the polysporin tube since she's been eyeing it ever since I put it on the scratch on her head from her little oopsie earlier.

O yes the binky is always in although she's trying to be sneaky now and put the stuff in while she has her binky in so we don't notice.

Had a serious talk with brother and his girlfriend. Lightened the situation by adding, "I will test-tube babies for you guys! I will be a surrogate mommy if I have to be for the sake of a niece or nephew"

My son does this frequently. I've gotten used to changing the diapers while he's on the move. He'll be 2 this Friday, and we've been introducing the potty since he was 15 months. He shows interest in wanting to learn, but he never does business in the potty. But we keep him at it. Not sure what else I can do differently.

Lol Mia just spits hers out all together and shoves whatever it is in lol. But she didn't cry again!!! I gave her the polysporin tube and sang while I did it and she was happy as a clam! *crosses fingers* maybe this will be the end of the horrible changing tantrums...

I hope so! We have another year of diapers before the dreadful potty training starts lol
