Portable cd player?

My 8 year old is just getting into music. I mean my boys have always liked music, but my oldest is getting into his own style. He saved up his allowance and bought himself a portable cd player. Then we got him 2 of the NOW cds. (We got them from walmart, so they are censored).

Anyway, my middle son will be 5 on Sunday. All he has asked for is a cd player and music (what he calls it), for his present.

Do you think he is to young for it? Would you get him it?

Why not? My two year old has a pocket size video/music player. It's like a sesame street-ified baby ipod. It makes grocery shopping and long car rides so much easier!

I would get it for him- just make sure he doesn't put the volume up to loud. He can really damage his hearing if he wears headphones with the volume to loud.

1 mom liked this

This..Deff make rules with this, and as goes for the 8yr old too as well if u havent already. I dont see nothing wrong with it. Just maybe to like a time limit so he doesnt have it on alot cuz it can still hurt his ears.

I don't know why, it just seems like a "big kid" thing. He still seems like my little baby.Lol

Yeah, I was already thinking about that too. Is there maybe headphone we could get that might muffle the sound a little?

Or I might just have to make sure I'm the one that controls the volume.

I am not sure about that. It would be a great idea if they did have a cd player that didn't allow the volume to go about a certain limit.
