question about spooks, spirits, whatever you wanna call them....

i don't really believe in the stuff...maybe it'll take a slap in the face from one to make me believe, idk...

anyways, the house we live in now is at least 60 yrs. old or more...the man that owns it grew up here. his parents passed away (not here, the dad at a hospital, and the mom at a nursing home)...

but let me tell you a few things::

back in the summer i was always making/selling hair bows and stuff. i KNOW i would unplug this stinkin' hot glue gun, but there were SEVERAL times that myself or dh would find it plugged in. i finally dismissed it as one of the kids (dd1 mainly) doing it, and started putting it in the drawer under the counter. now it's all good.

there were times i would throw things away in our trashcan (no lid, just a trashcan up against the kitchen wall) and i'd come back and the trash (certain pieces of paper, i remember, and then other things after that) were laying on the floor next to the trash can...no one was around (or animals.. the one time the piece of paper was back out, if the cat or dog we had at the time had done it, they would've fell in (the cat would've anyways), and/or knocked the trash can over)...

dd1 has this baby alive doll that bounces up and down and giggles if you press her hand/foot or something...that nutso thing randomly goes off in her bedroom all by itself.

and most off dd2's toys are in the living room (she's 15 months) and a few of those randomly go off...

we also have a touch lamp (the kind you touch to turn on, get brighter, and to turn off), and that thing randomly comes on by itself...but it never goes off on its own...

and once in the summer, dh came home from work thru the garage (he worked nights) and in the morning, i said something about it being soooo hot in our room, and he said 'well, when i came home, the heater was cranked up to 5 (out of 8)..did you turn it up?" and i said 'no, why would i..it's summertime.' and the kids/animals can't get to the knob to adjust it....

soooo....i really just dismiss this as coincidence, this house being a piece of crap (cuz it is), or whatever....but do you think the old man and/or woman could still be hanging around??

Maybe. It's always a possibility.

Try this one night. Get a little recorder, set it up somewhere, and just start asking questions. Give it a few minutes between each question ( enough time for an answer ).  Take some pictures of the house at night. See if anything strange shows up in the pictures. 

Also, if you can afford it, get a video camera or something and place it somewhere in the house or take it with you as you and DH walk thru the house when you do your investigation. That way, if something DOES happen....you'll have video evidence.

That's the type of things (and many others) that I grew up with.
I think there are spirits in your house.

i'd have to find a tape recorder or something....i had a couple pics of the house on fb, and my "aunt" that believes in all that stuff IM'd me saying i had orbs in my house (or whatever they're called)...so i asked wth she was talking about, and then looked it up, and decided that i did....but the 'orbs' were just dust particles.

as for the video camera, although i'm a 'non-believer,' i also don't have the cajones big enough to intentionally 'press my luck' i don't think lol....i'm one of those 'leave well enough alone' people lol

haha...they weren't very nice as humans, at least from what i hear...the old man was an @$$, and the old lady was very strict/stern and this one cousin of ours came over to borrow movies once, and was saying how the old woman used to chase her around w/ sewing needles and throw them at her....and had impeccable aim lol...

maybe they're nicer in death 0_o

yeah sounds to me like you may have something going on...just last night my 3yr came running out of my room saying their is a man in their walking with one black boot on and blood on his face....needles to say we all slept out in the living room....as a child growing up their was always spirits around me and as an adult they are still around....i have had soooo many things go on its crazy...ive seen a person in my dineing room i was outside it was night time all the lights were on in my house my neighbor was over and she said..OMG! i said did u see that ? and we both ran screaming!....a lil boy walking down are haul...my boys were in bed me and hubby both seen it.....as a child my friend didnt believe we were about 7yrs old she had no blinds on her windows i was layin on her floor she was in her bed and soon after she said oh whatever it isnt real...she screamed!...their was a lil girl standing at her window wearing like old style dress and curly blonde hair!...after that night she believed!....

Sounds like spirits. I don't believe in ghosts of dead people and do not believe it is the old owners. Spirits can take the form of a once living person to cause fear and confusion. Why? So people get curious and use other avenues to communicate with the dead or what have you. People have readings, use the Quiji board etc which just opens other doors that you don't want open. Someone had a paranormal post on here last week and I shared a few stories, one of which included a doll. My doll went wacko. I moved into a place that had things going on, DH and I prayed and had my dad pray over our place and told the spirits they had to leave. No problems now.

I only read this cause the word "spooks" got my attention.. My first thought was "who the hell would use such a horrible word!" ya know.. cuase it's a racist slang word for African American's. And as for the spirits, yes I believe them so I think that there's a good chance it's him.

I have stuff happen in my house on a daily basis. I just posted yesterday about it. I have the smaller things like kids toys going off and doors opened when i know I closed them ect. but I also have a few bigger things like yesterday first time this one happened I was sitting on the couch with ds2 and ds1 was upstairs playing and dh was walking to the post office and I heard a loud noise from the basement I went down and the washer was on nothing in it but water and I turned it off then dh got home I asked him if he turned it on he swears he didnt I know I didnt and ds2 is unable to go down there and ds1 never goes down alone. an hr later it turned on again by itself. Our tvs do crazy things like change channels and goes to the guide by itself everyday.
I am a believer and It does sound like you have spirits
