So I was apart of another CM group that had daily minimum post requirements. Okay cool. I like the group and what its about so I joined. It took me a while to get used to having minimum posts requirements, but I got used to it.
A few days ago, the group owner asks all the admins "Is 10 posts minimum today too much to ask." So me being an admin, I chimed in. I've been a new member before, I've been overwhelmed with the whole minimum posts thing. Now, while everyone else in the group is going on about "well they applied, they're grown people, they know what they committed too, its not that hard, if they found our group then they must know how to use the site, etc etc.
I chime in with my own experience and say: well, we don't really know how often people access the internet and we really don't know if people know how to navigate the site that well. People may need a little time to get used to how to do things. (This group is pretty busy with quite a few forums.) I did say, I thought that we (especially being admins) were being biased because we know what we're doing, but we kind of need to understand different dynamics.
I even offered that I would orient new members and help them around. Their response again: well they're grown people they should know what to do. Okay.
My response after that: well why do we keep talking about how new members aren't lasting in the group and asking for feedback only to come to the same conclusion.(This topic has come up numerous times before in this group.)
I was immediately removed from the group and told I was being critical of how things were being run. Don't know how I was being critical when I offered a solution. I'm kind of hurt. As an admin, I was making over 100 posts per day.
Not your fault they are.
I have never heard of a group who requiors you to make so many posts. That's rediculas. Sometimes my internet gets cut out for 90% of the day, and by the time it's back on, I'm busy making diner or whatever. That's just rediculas to me. And I'm sorry they kicked you out for making a valid point. Good for you for trying though. Don't let them get to you.
Mother to Alexander. Edwyn is due in March/April <3
Yeah, I tried. No tears on my end though. Got way too much stuff on my plate than worrying too much about a CM group.
