That could possibly be in his chest. Take him to the doctor.

Have you tried a saline flush in his nose? My 2 month old's pedi told us to hold him sideways over the sink and squirt saline in his nose until it comes out the other side and then bulb suck his mouth and nose.

Try Little noses saline, it is non medicated.

Two things... either his mucus is thick or there is none and its just swollen.  If you put a couple saline drops up there then suction out that should do the trick if theres anything to get.

As far as sleeping... there are lots of things to try but I would wait until hes not sick anymore.  In the mean time:

suction out nose often

keep head of bed propped

use a humidifier

also enclose him in a steamy bathroom with you

Put him in a steamy bathroom with you. It helps to break up anything.

You can take a nice long shower while he chills out in his bouncy dear breathing all that steamy air.

Make sure he sleeps with his up right now, like in his swing or bouncy seat for the time being.
