a frenum. Dd had Her 1st dentist app. Today & they noticed that she has a piece growing between her teeth that's connected to her lip. It's like the little piece of skin that everybody has connecting their lips to their gums but hers is bigger & kind of in the wrong place. Anyway they were talking about how they would have to remove it when she gets older. Does anybody have any experience with this?

How old was she. Was it pretty simple & did it correct the problem?

Yes, I thought everyone had one...

My youngest fell on her face and tore her frenulum, it bled all day. But after talking to the doc he made it sound common.

Maybe her's is too long or something.

frenulum. yes - when it's like that, it's called  a lip tie. No experience, but I know we often suggest babies get checked for that (or a tongue tie) when they're having problems nursing.

It can cause speech problems, but not as much as a tongue tie would.
