lady its a charity not your personal atm
I went down to the community outreach thrift store to look for some pants. They have a great program, if a family shows a need they provide them with a box per person of stuff from the store and a small monthly check to help with food, expenses and bills. If the family has an emergency they try to do everything they can to help out. There was a woman and her husband applying for help today and they have to put down income, expenses, and other assistance they receive in order to be considered. The couple got upset when the worker told them they couldnt deduct their internet, cable, and that they could only deduct one phone bill per family, whether it was a cell or home. The woman yelled at her saying they needed cable and cell phones blah blah and that the lady continues to demand that the worker deduct the over $200 per month she was spending. All said and done, they qualified for some help and the worker gave the woman an envelope with a small amount of cash in it (dont know how much but I do know people who have gotten help and it usually ranges from 20-50 per person) and gives the woman a box so she can fill it. The woman then asks if she could have more cash instead of clothing, household items and toiletries. The worker says no and she yells at her about that, then the woman looks in the envelope and says thats it, how is that supposed to help us? How ungrateful is that? She didnt even thank the worker for the assistance they were given.
