would you leave your child?

In June we will be moving to Kansas. At the end of may we are planning to go down (or over, really lol) for a week to look at places to live and just check out the area. My MIL has offered to keep our son when we go. He's 3. We haven't ever left him that long and its 13ish hours away. My husband is ok with letting him stay with her. I'm just not sure. I trust her with him, but it's sooo far away! Would you leave your kids that long/far away? Am I crazy for all the "what ifs" that play through my head just thinking about leaving him? What would you do?

It's hard to say lol for 4-5 days ya but a week is just so long lol!!!

Mm I would have a really hard time with it for a whole week...but your house hunting might be more productive if you aren't trying to entertain a 3 year old too

I wouldn't. I super overprotective with things like that. My three year old has only ever even been away from me overnight once.. and that's because I was in the hospital having his baby brother. That was two nights and I went CRAZY. So yeah, no, I wouldn't leave him.

would never, he goes where i go. Ds is almost 4 and has never been further away then 1.5hrs and never for longer then 3 nights.

I would. My mil and fil and my parents are more than capable of taking great care of the boys.

This sunmer my husband and I are taking a four day trip to Tennessee. My 8 & 2 year old will be at the inlaws :)

We left him for 4 nights in december but ONLY because my husband had to be rushed to a hospital in another state. I went crazy. That was only 3 hrs away.

I just took my two toddlers in the car on a 15hour drive. Traveling at night helps. I would take him with you, unless you have a good relationship with your MIL and trust her fully!

 I couldnt do it for a week, but I'll be gone for 3 months for basic and tech school for the Air Force so I cant talk lol.

 

Where in KS are you moving? We lived in Wichita for awhile

I wouldnt have a problem with it. I left my oldest with my bff for a week when I went on my honeymoon and he was only 18 months. I also wouldnt have a problem with it because my mil is awesome.
