So DH and I are planning our first real vacation since dd was born (she's 2). We're not sure where we're going yet but maybe to the beach which is about a 6-7 hr drive. We havent had any alone time in a very long time. My parents lived with us thru the last 2 winters & when they were going to go home a few weeks ago their house burned down so they are staying with us. I love my parents & they love being close to dd all the time & I know they would watch her if we went without her. They'd probably be happier that way. The thing is I've never been away from her for more than a few hours & I'm not sure that I can do it. We have a week that we can use but I was thinking maybe 3 days then come home. I just hate being away from her.

Yup! We went on a cruise when my daughter was two. It was some much fun!

I would! The longest I've ever been away from them was 3 days, but it was so nice to just relax.

I would not go on a week long "family" vacation without her
Wouldn't enjoy it I'd be so worried
But I would go on a weekend getaway with my SO when she is old enough and I feel comforatable leaving her for that long

I have a 2 year old also and i personally would not go without him at this age. Definitely in a few years though. If you feel comfortable enough though you should. It soulds like you really trust your parents with her. Part of the reason i wont leave my son is that i dont have anyone i trust with him for that long but also i think he's just too young.

it depends where the vacation is and how long. i have let ds stay with my dad and step mom over night once 2 weeks ago and once i realized he was ok i was ok. i had me time dh was away also.

as of right now no, i wouldnt leave my daughter unless its over nite and im not far, i hate the idea that something can happen to her and i couldnt get to her immediately. so no i wouldnt go
