OK where to begin... Lifeson had a doc apt yesterday he lost weight. He was 16 lb 6.5 oz in Feb and today he was 15 lb 12 oz. He has always had constipation issues but it was well controlled with miralax until about a month ago he get so bound up and has not been the same sense. So his doc prescribed a liquid stood softener as he doesn't take anything orally and is totally tube fed. So the issues is none of the pharmacies within 50 miles have it in stock and would have to order it and the insurance wont cover it in liquid form and it will cost me $50 a bottle and its not even a full months worth. Then his doc also prescribed a higher concentrate melatonin but again the problem is that no one has it in liquid form in a higher concentrate. They have it in a small bottle of 1ml concentration and it was $10 a bottle and it would only be 10 days worth. So now I'm trying to get the insurance to at least cover his stool softener as I know they wont cover the melatonin. I'm just so frustrated. If we can't get his constipation under control he mite have to have surgery to put in a poo bag to bye pass his intestines and bowel and if he don't gain weight he mite have to have TPN (total parental nutrition) its a central line placed in his chest and I would have to give him IV fluid with nutrition and proteins in it daily. I hope we get all this figured out and I pray he don't need surgery again he almost didn't wake up after his last one. It took over 4 hrs and it was supposed to be about 45 min for him to wake up and after every surgery it progressively got harder for him to wake up and he also had breathing issues after each one that progressively got worst with every surgery. I'm a nervous reck I don't know what to do I don't think I could handle watching him go threw another surgery

Well today the pharmacy was able to get the melatonin in the concentration that the doctor ordered but it is $14 a bottle and it should be enough for one month (4 weeks) they are still working on the stool softener and doc wrote a letter to the insurance stating that it is medically necessary that he have it and in liquid form. The insurance should be letting us know if its approved by tomorrow but the other issue with the stool softener is that none of the pharmacies have it and are trying to order it but they can't order it until the insurance says they will cover it.

My uncle was released from the hospital this afternoon. He had a minor heart attack and it didn't require a stint just some blood tining medication and a few hours observation. My grandpa also had a heart attack this morning. It was his second heart attack in 3 weeks. After his first one it was discovered that he had a bad heart valve and will need it replaced. But also for many years now he was being treated for severe asma and come to find out he breathing issues were not caused by his asma but caused by his heart. So he was a lung steroids for years now and didn't need to be. So they can't do his surgery until he is slowly weaned of the steroids. He has another stint placed today and he is doing better but wont be coming home for another few day to a week.

So much going on right now its crazy. My parents are also in the middle of an ugly divorce and my mom is staying with me right now. And 2 Sundays ago my crazy dad climbed over my 6 foot wood privacy fenced in back yard and broke into my house. He never knocked on the door or anything he just broke in at 6:30 in the morning. He has came up with some crazy excuses on why he did it. Well anyway he no longer is allowed on my property.

Well that's my update for now. Thank you all for your support and kind words I need them right now. I feel like I'm going to collapse. :'(

Sorry mama, that's a lot of stress for one person to handle.

I hope you have a way to release it and relax so it doesnt get bottled up.

Hugs mama

I feel your pain honey. My dad just had a quadruple bi-pass.... and I have to have another spinal surgery. It's really hard to deal with all that and take care of a baby. I really hope your little guy is ok and the meds work!!!! Good luck momma!! You can do this!! *hug*
