Allergies and School.

So apparently peanut allergies are not a big deal at my kids school. They just sent home the item list for whats in the field day lunchboxes and the main sandwich choices are "peanut butter" and "peanut butter & jelly".

Does your school limit what you can bring due to allergies? or is it a free for all?

Our school is very lax in allergies, you can bring anything for your childs birthday or class party and there are no restrictions on lunches/snacks.

Ours doesn't have a schoolwide policy. The teachers let the parents know the first week of school if there are any allegies in the classroom, so they can prepare for potlucks and parties and whatever.

I think you can bring peanuts, but the school doesn't serve it.

He went to another school that was peanut free. They were serious about it and I kinda thought it was ridiculous.

My DS is in a private school that doesn't have an official stance. He has a classmate with a severe peanut allergy so it's been restricted in his class and the other class that eats with his class.
