On the road to recovery again! (Pic w/ LOTS of tubes!)

Posted by   + Show Post

Well, after being bumped all day, Shane finally had his operation to re-position and open up his pulminary branch. The surgeon felt terrible that it took two operations & said it should have only taken the first one. We don't blame him for this, he was incredible both times & has saved my sons life time & time again! We are blessed to have him as our surgeon.

Shane did amazing, his pulminary branch is "normal" for now & the pressures are much lower (YIPPEE!). The fluid in his upper body should starting draining in a couple of days. Once again, the next 48 hours are absolutely critical to his recovery. Matt & I would like to say a HUGE thank-you to everyone who has faithfully prayed, been supportive & sent along kind words. We are at absolute peace with our decision and couldn't be more thankful to have such a strong, brave, little boy!

I'm off to try and catch some rest - what a long week it's been.

Here is our little fighter:

Yes, he's got lots of tubes & wires, but this is what a true miracle looks like!

I can't imagine what it's like, my little dude was in for 2 weeks and was touch and go for the first week. I have so much respect and compassion for parents who do it longer and have to watch their baby (ies) go through this. Big hugs to you all! Sending up prayers and healing thoughts Shane's way:)

I believe he's about 5 months old now. He just had heart surgery, I can't remember the name of the heart defect.

Tamara I am so happy to hear some good news!
