I'm not spending mothers day with my mom...

It's my first mothers day and she invited me, ds, Df, my brother, his wife, their 3 kids, brother's mil and her husband all to her apartment.
She wants to grill ribeyes and fixins but it's such a tiny apartment and it's my first mothers day.
She could have had it today but went to her friends house to help her pack up.
Is it wrong of us to not go to her house? Df doesn't want to, I could care less. I can take her gift over today, maybe go for dinner tonight but tomorrow is my mothers day, too!
Edit: I just got off the phone with Df. I told him I want to go see my mom, maybe not eat dinner there but atleast go see her. I've never wanted to not go see her on mothers day, in fact I hate that he doesn't. I think it's just hard for him because his mom is halfway across the country.

I am taking my kids to see my mom tomorrow. I can't imagine not spending it with my momma

Just do what you want.. like you said its your first mothers day but when your kid gets older would you be upset if they don't come see you?

I'd like to spend some time over there and we might stop in but he wants to take me to dinner instead of eating at her house.

yeah thats how I feel. I would be heartbroken if my kids didn't see me on Mothers day after they have kids :(

I live far from my mom. I wish I could spend the day with my mom. If you don't want to go don't. But I would at least go for a little while.

I'm going to see my mom tomorrow. I would never miss seeing my mom ob mother's day. I also go to my Grandma's. I celebrate mother's day with my family...all of them :)
