So, my beautiful, wonderful, stress-free mothers day came to an abrupt end... I caught Jesse (dh) drinking soda. I promise you- I'm no "sweet tea" lady...

For those who missed it- Jesse was recently hospitalized for dangerously high blood sugar and ended up diagnosed a type 1 diabetic. He PROMISED me he would take this seriously and live a healthy life so we'd have less of a chance of something going wrong. Turns out- he's been eating and drinking other crap when I'm not around.

I approached it kindly. I love him, and our 5 month old son adores him... And I don't want to see anything bad happen to him. I don't want him in a wheel chair, or a coma, or dead because he refuses to take care of himself. Sure- you could argue that its his body and his choice- but he has a family now. Who would be left with the heartbreak? Us.

He snapped at me and said he just wants to be normal. Wtf- sweet. Great. Now I'm in tears. Happy fucking mothers day.

Sorry... Ignore it if you want... Just needed to vent...

*edit*
You ladies inspired me. You're right- he's a grown ass man and needs to do this on his own. I'm so used to us being a team.

He has a marker board on the door. I wrote out a check list for him so he wouldn't forget things when he went to work (insulin, glucose meter, wallet, etc) he thought it was great because it helped him remember

Well, I erased it and wrote "I'm not your fucking mother"

Yup. I went from upset- to iced over bitch. I need to back off. If he won't take it seriously- I won't stand in his way.

That sucks he's being so dumb about his own health. Maybe see if you can find a diabetic support group online and get someone who did the same thing he's doing to talk to him. I wish he wasn't being such a jerk about it. I know its very difficult.

Its hard. There's a support group close by but he's shown no real interest in going...

I ended up being very blunt with him at the end of our fight. If he dies from this- that's it. He's at peace. *i* have to plan the funeral. *i* have to explain to our son what death is, and why daddy will never come home. *i* have to live longer than I should without my best friend and soul mate. And our SON has to live without a dad

He shut up after that.

Now he feels bad. He keeps apologizing but the damage is done. I need to sleep it off, kwim?
