A good friend of mine needs all the help she can get. Susan has four, yes four with special needs. The oldest, James has severe autism, mild cerebral palsy, and PVL. Within the last two years, James has gained over 95 pounds and is now at risk for diabetes and needs an adaptive trike to help him. Lovely Medicaid has denied coverage for this equipment. With twins (both with Autism and one also has Down's syndrome) and their fourth child being diagnosed on the spectrum within the last year, Susan and her husband cannot afford this much needed device. She entered into a contest on FB to try to win him this trike, but it quickly turned into a popularity contest, not a contest where children's needs were assessed.
