Eczema

To the mommies with experience with eczema, what works the best in terms of over-the-counter care? We do not have insurance right now (job doesn't offer, still working on getting medicaid for my son) so it's not officially diagnosed but I teach preschool and I've seen countless cases of eczema and I'm about 90% sure my son is developing it on his face. So my question is, what can I use for now that you've found has worked the best for you? What I have on hand: Vaseline, A&D ointment, Eucerin, Neosporin, Hydrocortizone, and  various other lotions, I put the Eucerin on him for now, anything you guys would suggest I get pronto until I can get him into a Dr.?

My kids and I all have severe ezcema. I have found coating it in vaseline works the best

We have a Rx for when my son has bad times.

For every day use we use Cetaphil cream 2 x a day, it has helped a ton! :)

My 10 month old recently developed eczema. We switched her bath wash to the fragrance free sensitive wash, use Aveeno Eczema lotion, and we use the Dreft baby laundry soap. I've noticed huge improvements from switching to hypoallergenic skin care products!

Put vaseline on right out of the bath before drying him off. It helps seal in the moisture. Dd has a spot on her face and twice a day I put hydrocortisone cream on the spot and throughout the day I put vaseline on it. It really seems to help.

I put coconut oil on dd in the morning when it gets bad. Otherwise I put renew intensive therapy on her at night. I also give her zyrtec bc when her allergies are bad her eczema is worse.

YOU CAN GET CREAMY BABY OIL AND VASELINE FROM YOUR LOCAL DOLLAR TREE. Put them both on immediatley after a bath and do not completely dry your child.

And we use All-Free Detergent on all clothing in the house, because dreft was pricey

Vanicream works GREAT!! For bath time, DSs allergist recommended Dove sensitive soap. We also use cortaid on his break out spots.
