Ok so its been in the 90s lately and my ds and dd ages 2 and 3 rooms get very hot.. what would you suggest? I feel more comfortable with a fan in my ds(3) room.. my dd not so much! She has broke 2 of our fans...what do you do for your younger kids room to help keep it cool or what would you suggest?
Also with dd I do not trust a box fan for window because I'm afraid shed try to get out.. she is a little dare devil!... lol thanks in advance for suggestions!

we have an AC but when we were without opening a window worked with a gate in front of it. and putting the fan in front of the window for a bit before they went to bed worked to blow in some of the cool air

I would buy window units for ther room...or buy a window unit for my room and have them camp on the floor.
Sleeping in hot temps is miserable.

i have blackout curtains in every window of my house. that helps soooo much! the Florida weather is killer!
so i use blackout curtains and if i want sun light i only open the curtains on the side.of the house where the sun is not directly hitting.

Did you like nail or tape the gate up infront of window or how did you do that?

Just one and we have that for up in our room because it seriously will feel like you are in a tanning bed up here without the ac... I would do an ac for ds room him I trust just my dd I'm worried about... but the black out curtains.... is that just pitch black color curtains or are they a special kind? It does help not make the room so hot though?

oh i thought you had central ac not the window units. even still you can put an ac in her window. i wouldn't worry about her doing anything like push it out or anything. they make really good.ones that block off the extra part of the window.
and the blackout curtains are thick curtains that keep out the sunlight and heat.

About how much are the curtains where you live and where would you buy them if you do not mind me asking? We are just tight on money for a few pay checks right and just can not afford a 150-300 ac.. I wish though.. but no no central ac would be nice.. the only room that actually stays "cool" all day is just the living room

all stores like walmart, jcpenney, target. places like that will have them. i think i got mine from walmart for around 15$ i swear by them. i have expensive ones in my room that are suead because i sleep during the day from working overnights. you think u could have the ac going in your sons room and put a fan blowing that air.in the direction of your dd room?
