Don't shove YOUR god down MY throat!!

So, you don't see commercials about practising catholism, islam, buddism, paganism, or most branches of christianity. But there are some about christianity and there are a lot about mormonism. There are also billboards for both and even some for other religions. But I've never seen any deity other then jesus painted on a car, or a sign saying "jesus cares about you" as a sign on the freeway.

I'm all for having freedom of religion and everything, but come on!!

No matter what channel I watch or where I go or what I do, I end up having a christian program on tv, or a mormon commercial. Or I'll see a christian billboard, or I'll have people who will deliberatly stop me from doing what I'm doing so they can "tell me about the love and grace of their lord and savior, jesus christ" (deliberatly not capitalizing those)

I know in the bible it says to go and spread the word of god, and people do, because they have to feel part of a bigger something, not because they actually feel the need. Or they are so afraid of their god, that they feel if they don't then they won't get into heaven, or wherever it is they're going.

But, here's my problem. Worship the way you feel compelled to, worship whom you want to, worship how you want to. But let me be do the same. Do not try to convert me to your cult way of thinking.

Answer this, how come the bible says that god has always been, but paganism is the longest recorded religion?? How come the jesus is link to the pagan god of the sun?? How come all the holy holidays are that of what paganism used to be?? Christianity got power and had to take the next powerful religion out, and so they made it easier to conver. Not because it hold holy significance, but to make it easier.

How do you think your god feels about war?? And yet all the wars have been claimed in his name, and he hasn't done anything to change that. Or how does he feel about murders?? And yet people coming back from the war are just that. Or an eye for an eye, yet we don't put murders to death?? And yet, we condem and judge people, when that is only god's place?? How come god goes so long without giving us punishment for not obeying him??

I don't have a problem with religion, but if you're going to shove it down my throat then I will.

Cause people have nothing better to do i guess i know how you fill. we have this one couple that live in are apt. buliding and there always at are door asking if we want to go to hevean. it gets old after awhile.

I'm not religious but I don't see any harm in advertising your religion. Maybe it's your region that has a lot of certain types of religion and not others. Maybe you need to live with other like minded people in order to be happy? Their faith is not their shortcoming. Your lack of patience is. Sorry if I sound harsh I just prefer freedom of religion unlike in other countries and the freedom. It's a great freedom even if I do have to ignore things I don't agree with.

I don't understand getting so upset about stuff like that. I really don't. If you're not Christian, fine... don't be Christian. I'm not either. And I sure as hell don't waste my time being so angry over something I don't agree with or believe in in the first place. I live in the Bible Belt. I see signs, commercials, and billboards all the time. It's not that big of a deal.

To me its not worth even arguing about or worrying about. If you bring it up, then you get shot down about "ganging" up on them. No one is willing to admit their beliefs are wrong, because in most peoples mind religion keeps their life having meaning. Religion is a morale booster, it doesn't matter what you practice, it makes people happen. I am happy practicing mine, and let them be happy practicing theirs. Turn a blind eye to the "shoving it down your throat".

i think what pisses me off most if i have had....countless people knocking on my door about their religion. when i say no thank you they dont stop. ONCE i said i was pagan and they were all out ready to start a full on blaming arguement with me. i wound up shutting the door in my face. I can tell you right now, its things like that that put me off on your religion. when i say no i mean it, when i say i believe in this its not an open invite to tell me how wrong what i belive in is. just leave me alone. seriously. i dont know on your door spouting off about the goddess and mother earth and spell crafts, so please oh please dont do it to mine.

Why does it bother you so much? There's also tons of billboards for mcdonalds. Do you feel like they're trying to shove it down your throat(no pun intded)? If you don't agree with it then simply ignore it. Just because you don't Share the same belief as someone doesn't mean you need talk smack. For example, I'm straight. But I'm not going to get irritated if I see a gay billboard. That doesn't make it a horrible thing just because Im different.

I opened the door once and it was some Jehovah's witnesses and I was in a towel they haven't been back since I didn't do I on purpose but it really worked out. I'm catholic but I dont shove it down ppls throats and I would appreciate it not being shoved down my throat

It only bothers me when people knock on my door or stop me on the street or something. If they are physically interacting with me. If it's a billboard I'll look somewhere else. I don't have cable or anything so I don't see the commercials.
