I've come to realize that my husband is clueless. I can make comments like "I love how I just cleaned in here but you cant tell it now." because he will come in and take his boots off in the middle of the livingroom when someone will trip over them. He is the only person in the house that does that. My 2 year old knows that she takes her shoes off in the mudroom. She also knows that trash goes in the trash can. Dishs go in the sink. Cloths go in the hamper. And her toys go in the toy box. If a 2 year old can understand it why cant my husband. I'm not asking for much. Just pick up the stuff you mess up. Is anyone else having this problem?

Haha! You just described my dh! I just posted something similar too this in another group. My dh leaves his shoes out, can't put his dirty laundry in the hamper, and leaves trash everywhere. Drives me crazy! My 2yo now yells at dh if his clothes don't make it in the hamper. So he's getting better at that.

Yup. Just like when you need to vent about something's totally unrelated to him, like how your the cashier pissed you off at the store, and you start getting an attitude with your words, he gets defensive and thinks your tryna fight him.

The only Guy I can vent to like hat is my brother, he is gay lmao.

lol yeah or the minute your voice starts to get that higher pitch that indicates you are abt to start scolding him the glaze over the eyes comes up

Yup small sentences is key with a Guy. After ten words they zone off. Lol

if i have a problem with something he does i am very blunt abt it so that he understands what i am saying. for example...he walked through the house with his dirty boots on and as a result of that i steppedon a metal shard. i told him ' from now on i need you to take your boots off in the laundry room and leave them there'. problem solved :) don't bother hinting around they rarely get it unless you knock them in the head with exactly what you want in small sentences

Oh yeah! My 3 yo pitches in more than DH, lol. I don't mind that he doesn't really do chores (as I am the homemaker), but I get so pissed when he doesn't pick up his own messes! The men in my family aren't like that, nor is my 3 yo son, so I know it's not all men.

You're not asking anything. Try "babe, can you please put your shoes where they belong?" or something, lol

My 2yo is the same way. She even cleans up the bathroom after bath time, if daddy didn't she runs down and yells at him. She takes her shoes off outside like I expect everyone to, shell yell at daddy or brother if hey don't. She even.organizes the shoe closet, the guys just throw them in there

I dont hint.. i flat out tell him "i appreciate you going to work to suoport us and i know you are tired but can you please put your boots out of the walkway?" Sarcasm will only cause hostility and start fights...

Btw, last night I tripped over DH's shoe and smashed my toe. He still threw his shoes around today, and DS (3) said "Daddy, Mommy got an owie!" and placed his father's shoes neatly in their place. I think DH was a little embarrassed that his toddler showed more consideration because he turned red, lol. Hopefully that will make him think about it once in a while.
