Depends on the kid. My ds is trying to train at 2 1/2. He said he was a big boy so one morning we put big boy drawers on him and that was that. Still not poopie trained but we are working on it

I'm wondering the same thing myself. My little one is 2.5 as of 7/7 and she still has no interest. I imagine it depends on each child to where the actually express an interest. I've also heard that there are signs when they can tell you they want to 'sit on the potty' or can wake up without having a wet diaper, that those are good times. We have a potty for her and she seems to understand what it is and sits on it, but she gets bored fairly quickly and doesn't want to stay sitting. It even gets to the point where she'll sit there and tell me she doesn't have to go and a minute later when I'm giving her a bath, she'll pee in the tub. FRUSTRATING! I hope you can start soon without my challenges!

Whenever they seem ready. My youngest potty trained at 18 month, but the older 2 were 2 1/2.

For my son, it was a week after his 3rd birthday. That's when he told me he was ready. Now, a month later, he hasn't had an accident in almost 2 weeks (and any he had before that happened while he was running to the bathroom) and he's never wet the bed. It's soooooo easy when they're ready! My cousins all had nightmares potty training because they pushed it too early. Of course, since my boy was 1 and a half, every time I changed his diaper I'd talk about the joys of using the potty and downfalls of diapers, so it was marinating in his brain for over a year before he decided he was ready.

My son was the same way shortly before he was ready. Right before his 3rd birthday, I thought he'd be in diapers forever, lol. Something just seemed to magically click with him!

We bought the potty at 2 and kept it in the bathroom and let him sit on it when we went, but he didnt initially start really trying to go all day till he was alomst 3..boys are always harder i hear, so we tried to be patient and hes doing great now..we use stickers for pee and tattoos for poop..but whatever works..good luck!!
