did I over react?

Ok so I was at my friends house and I have a dd that is almost 2 and she has 2 kids one is 6 the other just turned 3.  they have cement steps probably about 4 or 5 to their front door.  well the kids were playing and my daughter rolled down most of them, scraped her arms and legs up pretty bad but luckily did not hit her head at all.  well, I ran and picked her up checked her all out, cuddled her a bit and she was back up playing.  My friend commented on how I'm a typical first time mom, over reacting like that.  I didn't think I over reacted at all but she says I need to stop babying my dd.  Her kids have to be bleeding before she pays them any attention.  Do you think I over reacted?

I think you did exactly what you're supposed to do as a mom. I don't make a big deal of it when my dd gets hurt, but it most definitely gets my attention and comfort.

with my kids....depending on the type of fall is what my reaction would be. a fall like that i would check either one of them over, but a simply fall down i generally dont pay much attention to it unless it was a bad one
