Booster Til When?

How long are you keeping your kiddos in boosters? My oldest will be turning 8 soon and she's 60lbs and I need to measure her to see how tall. Her friends have told her the magic age is 8 so she's begging to be out of her booster by then.

Question is, when is safe to stop boostering?

My kids will be in a booster likely til between 10-12 depending on when they pass that test.

I will keep son in a booster as long as I can. The car seat I'm getting him for after his infant seat can rf till 40 lbs, five point harness to 65, and booster to 100. I can't remember the heights off the top of my head. There is no magic age, only a safe size. That being said,.as long as I can keep him in, I will.

i think here in CA the law is 8 years old, it was 6 but they bumped it to 8 this year if i remember correctly. so for us, its 8 years old due to its law

This!!!
Parent's rush to "get rid of the booster" and don't realize if the child doesn't 5 step yet, they are in real danger. :(

What seat are you getting? What you described sounds like the Alpha Omega 3 in 1 and they are horrible seats.

Your best bet is to get a good convertable to ERF in and after that is outgrown FF, go from there (new
Seats are always coming out).

There knees also need to bend over the seat properly. Use the link someone else posted. It's more than just age. My son will probably met all 5 factors by the time he's 7

5 Step Test, yes.

Though 7 is far too young to be out of a booster. Bare minimum (safely) is 8 years AND 80 pounds.
