If I had known I could have gone here and bid on the WHOLE village of District 12, from the Hunger Games movie... I soooooooooooooo would have. OMG. WHY did no one tell me? Opening bid was $1,200. That is epic. And starting bids at $1,200 for what, 73 acres etc? Awesome-sauce. Anyway, lolz.... I seriously love this site, this show, etc. These Hollywood auctions are awesome, and I sooo have a small wishlist anyway. :)
Ooooh... the TV show is called Hollywood Treasures, it's a Syfy show, was watching it on Netflix. Anyway, now I know. Maybe when Bag End in the Shire comes up for the block, I can be prepared.
Sealed-bid Auction for
‘District 12’ aka Henry River Mill Village
72-acre abandoned mill town in North Carolina
“District 12” is in reality the Henry River Mill Village, a 1920s, 72-acre abandoned mill town located in North Carolina. The property exists exactly as it is seen in the film, from the bakery owned by Peeta Mellark’s family to the house where Katniss Everdeen and her sister Prim lived. It is all there. Production came into the town and shot directly on site and didn’t need to change a thing.
