Everyone is fit to homeschool these days, I guess.*edit-stop the bashfest
I'm not against it at all.. just noticed the trend. I guess i'm just different, I want my kids to experience public school for lots of reasons.
Have you noticed the increase of homeschooled kids?
Edit:Wow didn't know I created WWIII.... we get it some like it, some don't
...not a big deal
I think public school is alot different now than it was when i was in school. I thought about homeschooling if we didnt get into the school we wanted because our school is HORRIBLE the worst in the district and I wasnt about to send my kids there.
I dont really agree with it.... I think a child should be taught by someone who has gone to school and KNOWS about what they are teaching about.... has certifications... ect.... I mean... how many home schooling moms have teaching degrees? And what the hell are they actually teaching their kids?! Its kinda the blind leading the blind in some cases.
Lol, I love the moms on here that have terrible grammar or they just don't make sense period, but they are all about homeschooling.Do they reallllllly want to keep their kids away from a regular teacher?
I don't want my kids cooped up at home, I want the maround different types of people, and I want them to have the whole experience.

Yes! I used to work with kids and alot of parents were going to homeschooling because kids in public schools are so "mean". Speeh, but that's why kids are such wusses nowadays! Lol
That's exactly how I feel. When my kids are sick, I don't just assume i'm better than a licensed professional and not take them to the doctor.

So to me, no real increase. However, I do believe it is becoming more accepted and mainstream.
I am considering it for my son - but I really don't think it is for us, or my son.

yes
The schools are getting lower and lower test scores, there is more and more violence, not to mention the fact that I know 1st graders who were kissing on the bus, but ensured me it was okay, because it was only on the bus.
And most home schooling moms can't be an "expert" on every subject either!!! So either way the child suffers... they can't keep up with college classes if they havent been taught a basic base education... which in turn may stunt them from getting and keeping a real job... not to mention all the social disorders and problems they will have by not learning from their peers on how to act in real life situations.... I dont care who you are... you cant teach that at the kitchen table. :)
