So, dd, for the last 3 days now has been throwing up (not spitting up but projectile vomit) about 50-60% of her bottles! We called the pedi, they asked for a wet diap count, which is normal (a lil less then normal but not worrisome).

But now, on top of her throwing up, she's constipated... I think.... she's at about 45hrs w no BM. =/ she's got gas like a mo fo though! So I called her pedi to day again and he said give her a lil longer, and if by noon our time she hasn't "moved" I have to stick a lubed thermometer up her hiney! O.o

I really don't wanna do that.. anyone have any alternatives? Again, she's only 7wks old...

*UPDATE* thank you all for your suggestions! The doc called back yesterday evening with the go ahead to try and stimulate her BM. Which we did. As torturous as it was! Lol! But she finally went! She's still super crabby though. I asked him about switching her formula as she is STILL throwing up quite a bit, and he said that's orobably the WORST thing we could do right now. He wants to get her eating normally first then slowly transistion her. Since she is already on a sensitive stomach formula. He actually said were going to wait until her 2 mth check to even think about it (on 11/27). I just hope we can keep her eating up!

She likely has acid reflux and needs meds and a different formula. My dd was on Nutramigen and although it was expensive, it was a miracle! It helped with normal poops too.

Also keep her upright during feeding and for 30 minutes after feeding, and burp after every ounce of feeding.

I hope she feels better!

I stuck a lubed thermometer up Lani's butt when she was constipated for 3 days. After thirty minutes of using the thermometer she pooped lol so it works

You might wanna change her formula

Only thing I got might sound a little odd. Take her diaper off but leave it underneath her. Take a wipe and wrap it around your finger. Then take your finger and gently rub/massage around her rectum. She may poop right away, or it might take 5-10 mins.

It works great, but like a said...it's a little weird. It's what my daughters doctor told me to do when she was little. She had horrible constipation issues, and even at 6 still does :(

Yikes poor baby girl, they told me to tickle his feet, to get him to react. are you breast feeding? Of not she needs a different formula probably, I hope she feels better, do you have a wedge? So she doesn't have to sleep flat?

Thanks, she's on Gentlease bc she was having spit up issues when she was born. She's been totally fine since then! Always regular poops and feeding. She also has an inverted bed (doc reccomended) so she never actually sleeps flat.
After the first day of throwing up her doc said to "bird feed her". (Feed an ounce, burp for 15mins, for a 4 oz bottle) but she's hardly staying awake enough to eat an oz at a time! =/
Could it really hit her that fast/sudden? Like I said, this started 2 days ago, and prior, she had no issues! I hope we don't have to change the formula... she didn't do well with the transition from Enfamil NB to this, id hate to see her on another new one! =(

Thank you for the advice!

Make sure you are storing the formula at the right temp and not for too long. My son was doing the same with his formula and changing the way we stored and prepared his formula made all difference.

My son was the same way, he is now on nutramigen for formula. He is allergic to soy and milk based. Use gas drops as much as possible. We also gave him 1 ounce of prune juice mixed with 3 ounces of water once a day to help with his bm. We had to see a gi specialist for him because of all of it. He was also in acid reflux medication.

Awww! I am sorry to read this for both you and your baby. It could be a mixture of things such as reflux and the formula might need switched. I have a 3 month old and a toddler. My toddler pooped everyday as a baby. My 3 month old poops every 3 days. Have you tried carrying your baby in a wrap to make things alil easier for the time being? If she has reflux, feed her upright and burp her frequently.

Was she born early?
