Okay, rump roast, potatoes, peeled, baby carrots, 2beef bulion(sp?) Cubes, garlic and onion poweder, a.tad salt.....how do I kick this taste?

how did you cook it? Do you mean like a salad? It sounds like you didnt brown the meat before starting the stew.

In a crock pot, like everyone in my family. No the taste is coming from the potatoes

Do you have a chicken buillon?? That's one thing I never run out of because I use them in my green beans.. If you have a chicken flavor, use it.. Youw on't be able to tell..

Next time use red potatoes they have less of an earthy taste.

I always use dried chopped onion, because it's a little stronger flavor in slow cooked foods. Do you have any broth? I usually cook my roasts in beef broth with all the ingredients you listed plus the chopped onion.
