DH found out two weeks ago he's deploying. Soon. I can't grasp that he's leaving. I want to prepare myself mentally, but everytime I think about it I stop myself and think "He may not go". Even though the commander told him "Close out your job, family, home and anything else before you come down here" I can't grasp it. This sucks because I know when he does leave it will hit me HARD. Last time I knew for a year and half.

Thanks for letting me vent.

I don't think there is any way to truly prepare for that. However, most people tell me the deployment is over before you know it. You'll do ok :) Good luck.

You can PM if you want.. my dh is active, and we have been through five deployments. He missed the birth of our son.. so I know what you are going through. <3
