birth record not found PIOG

that is what the lady at vital records and statistics told my sister when she went to get my nephew's birth certificate to register him for pre-kindergarten. she had a copy of it before but his father stole it right along with his baby book and the baby shoes she had bronzed. this is the same office that she got the copy she had from. she is going back tomorrow to try again to get a copy and to talk to the person in charge of the office and if that does not work she is going to contact a lawyer. she gave birth in a hospital so there are records that he was born in the city and county she said he was born in so i honestly dont know what the issue is.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO IN THIS SITUATION? WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS?

yes she took it with her and the lady still told her that she could not find it

That's so crazy. I've never heard of such a thing. I hope she gets what she needs

It could be some tHing as small as a spelling error. That no one noticed before to have it corrected. My daughters ss card came wrong and I had to call and luckily got someone who would actually fix it with out all the hassle I should have had.
Good luck to her cuz she may have some crap to deal with.

Sounds like that lady didnt know what she was doing. I'd just try again and if it doesn't work contact a lawyer.
