Holding baby while shopping

My baby boy likes being in his car seat only so long no matter where we are or that it's moving. So ill take him out and hold him usually on my hip under my left arm as I'm right handed. I find I get a lot of looks when doing this and while my son is adorable I don't think that's all the looks are for.

Have you ever experienced this? What have you thought of moms when you've seen it?

Why would someone give you looks for carrying your baby? That's ridiculous lol.

I don't know why anyone would give you looks for holding/carrying your baby.

I completely agree! But it's happened several times. He's very young so maybe that's why, he's only 2 months. But it's not like he screams or anything.

I'd think I'm just being paranoid if several people with me hadn't mentioned they've noticed it too. I dunno maybe I just look funny :)

I get a lot of people staring at us all the time but it because my daughter wears a reshaping helmet. Not because I am holding her

I don't know why a person would stare bc you are holding your baby. That's odd.

I never tote a carseat and I always put my baby in my ergo, I don't get funny looks.

That's happened to me. I believe it because of the "hillbilly baby on your hip" outlook. It's ridiculous.

1 mom liked this

I  have no idea. I wouldn't think twice about someone holding their baby while shopping. Now if your child was screaming and running around like a hooligan and you were trying to ask them what kind of cookies they wanted you to buy... lol... that'd be different  : )
