Garden of Life
I was conceived from a tiny miracle seed
That took nourishment from my mother and grew
I was born and absorbed wisdom from all around
Wisdom—that produced intellect seeds—reasoning power
That I cultivated into the personal garden of life I knew.
Surrounded by this budding garden of life
I tended and planted with particular care
Wanting it to bloom and blossom with beauty and love
Constantly pulling out the incessant weeds
That kept sneaking in like stealthy thieves there.
I quickly learned my beautiful garden
Must be tended with constant devotion and love
I must always choose between good and bad
Fight temptation present everywhere I go
Prevent weeds that offer doom and despair.
Life as I learned to live it, speak it, experience it
Was based on the choices I chose to make
A constant challenge between choosing good or bad
That would set the paths in life I would take
To create a flower garden of life, or a patch of weeds.
