Could you do what Angelina Jolie did?

It's all over the news: Angelina Jolie had her breasts removed and is going to have her ovaries removed next, all to lower her risk of cancer.

If you found out you had the cancer gene, could you do the same?

I would have to have a very extensive line of family history of breast or ovarian cancer to do that.

If I had an 87% chance of getting breast or ovarian cancer, and surgery could bring that chance down to 5%? Absolutely.

Yes I would. I watched MIL go thru BC chemo ect and it was bad. If I could reduce my chances yes I would.

Absolutely. There aren't many tests that can indicate ur risk for other cancers so we are lucky as women to be given the chance. As long as I was done having kids I would do it without thinking.
