When it comes to dessert and kids,
the simpler the better. Not many little palettes leap for things like
creme brulee or tiramisu, but give them anything colorful,
frosting-filled, or sprinkled with candy, and they go wild.
There are few things more joyful to watch than a child devour a dessert with pure bliss on his or her sticky little face, and while sweets should of course be enjoyed in moderation, it's fun to feed their fantasies with the ooiest, gooiest concoctions on occasion. Even more fun -- having them help make them or make them all by themselves. Here are three delicious desserts kids love to make almost as much as they love to eat them. Adults won't find them too shabby either.
These are absolutley adorable, and they're bloomin' delicious too. The base consists of layers of cookies, pudding, and a fluffy frosting. The "dirt" is made of crushed up Oreos. Pretty fake (or real if you like) flowers and gummy worms make them picture perfect.
This is the perfect summertime activity. You make the ice cream yourself, then let the kids assemble between any kind of cookies you like. Set out sprinkles, chocolate chips, and candies and let them roll and decorate as they please.
This is a great way to sneak some healthy stuff into dessert. The cookie crust is topped with a cream cheese icing, then they can go to town decorating it with all sorts of fruit. You can also have them add things like coconut, chocolate chips, or nuts -- anything goes.
