Ok, I know someone posted on this topic before. But I had a seperate question to see if anyone knew. There is state insurance in texas called CHIPS. Its through the state and you pay into it once a year. Does anyone know if that is going away or if it will be around? I just need to know so I am not getting my kids more insurance they don't need.

Well, they're not getting rid of medicare or medicaid, so i would imagine that CHIPS will still be in place also. I tried googling it and I'm not finding any info on it being cancelled, so I think it's still ok.

I think CHIP is staying just like medicare and medcaid are. My daughter was just enrolled in CHIP actually, so I don't think they would be approving people for it if they were getting rid of it.
