missed pills = messed up cycle?

Some details:
Sept. 16 - 20: Period
Sept. 22 Sunday - Took first pill (first time taking BC pills)
Sept. 23 - 2nd pill
Sept. 24 - 3rd pill
Sept. 25 - Son was hospitalized. Missed pill.
Sept. 26 - Took two pills.
Sept. 27 - Son still in the hospital. Missed again.
Sept. 28 - Missed again. Decided to just stop completely.
Sept. 30 - Oct 3: Withdrawal bleeding.

It's October 17 and my regular period hasn't arrived (negative HPTs). I have a 31 day cycle (usually). I honestly thought AF was coming because of cramps and tender breasts. Should I count Sept 30 bleeding as cycle day 1?

Sorry, I'm new to this whole birth control pills thing.

Birth control pills can really mess up your period when you stop in the middle of a pack. I don't know when to expect your period. Is there any chance you're pregnant? Maybe call your ob and ask them about when you should get your period after stopping the pills?

Yep it is very likely to happen when you start and stop birth control

That is why I stopped taking the bc pills, I am terrible at taking them on time everyday. I am on the shot now, which I still don't really like, but it is the best alternative for me and the hubs.

If I miss a pill or even two in a row, it does nothing. If I miss 3 days in a row it will start my period.
Bc makes me very regular, like clock work so I know when it will start even if I miss pills.

Since you were knew and didn't take them all, then stopped, there is no telling when your body will regulate itself. Take a pregnancy test to make sure you're not pregnant. If you're not, it's just a waiting game. You might have slipped this months period.
