Almost 15 month old, still not walking on her own!

My daughter took her first unassisted steps two weeks ago. She took four steps while screaming with excitement. Since then, she hasn't done more than two and when we think she's about to walk, she sits down and crawls instead. She walks as long as she's holding on to something (couch, wall, coffee table, our hands), but doesn't seem to be interested in walking on her own. Any suggestions/advice?

She's getting it! I'd just keep encouraging her!

I'm trying to just encourage her to walk to me when she's standing and she understands what I'm asking her, but seems to get nervous. I'm trying to not to pressure her, just encouraging :)

Sometimes it's just a confidence thing. She'll get there in her own time.

My DD was silly about it and would dance unassisted and twirl things over her head at 16 months, but refused to walk unassisted until she was 18 months old.

My son was actually the same way... Then at 16 months he started walking and hasn't stopped running around since!! I was definitely concerned that he didn't walk much after his first few steps but it seems he was just more confident crawling at the time. Like other moms have said just keep encouraging her and before you know it you won't be able to keep up!! 😊

Some kids lack the confidence to walk unassisted. It is normal for a child to not walk unassisted until 18 months.

She will do it on her own when she is ready maybe she just isn't ready just yet. :) be positive and keep helping her try walking. ;)

Encourage her to walk on her own, stand in front of her calling her to u. But if she gets irratated dont push her. She will do it when she feels comfortable. It took a while for my son to walk too but he did eventually some babys get more nervous then others i guess.
