do you let your kids have soda? and how old are they? what do you think is the appropriate age to introduce it to them?

my ds is only one so he wont be having anything like that for a long long time...if ever! lol

We do have soda every once in a while (dd is almost 3) but we could(should) do without. We get the ones with no HFCS

when my kids were younger they got to taste soda. but now they are 6 and 7, i dont let them have soda or candy. They go kinda crazy on sugar. onces in a while i may let them have one.

No we don't. But she's only 16 months and definitely not ready for that. She's naturally very energetic without all the extra sugar.

My son is 6 and he gets small amounts of sprite when he is sick with a stomach bug or something, but that is all.

Mine are 6&7. I consider soda a "party food", so they get it on rare occasions/special treats. They were around 2 when they started and I never give them diet.

The only time I ever give my son soda is on the off chance I get one. I never buy it and he doesn't really like it anyway. (He is 2) Even if I did drink it regularly I would not allow him too. I feel bad for children when their parents let them drink soda and eat junk food all the time.

My 2yo twins have only ever had sips of ginger ale. My older kids probably drink more soda than they should, but at least it's sweetened with Splenda and not aspertame. (And no, I don't mean they drink it 24/7. But probably the equivalent of 3-4 cans a week.)

I wouldn't give my son soda. He's 4 and has never had any. I don't plan on letting him have any for several years yet.

My 3 yr old hasn't had it yet and I plan to keep it that way for a while still except for having a tummy bug I may try some real ginger ale.

No. My kids rarely even get juice, they're 3 and 8.
